With over 4 successful startups to his credit as founder , investments in over 9 startups , 18 international patents and an active member of leading angel groups in Bay Area, Abhi handholds startups from ideas to commercialization. Abhi is TiE Silicon Valley board member and medical advisory board member of Frost and Sullivan. Abhi is also passionate of films and entertainment with National Gold Lotus award to his debut film project in India.

Gauri is a biotechnologist with an extensive commercial research and entrepreneurial background. She has extensive experience working in the genetics, cytology, microbiology, molecular biology, medical imaging and bioinformatics fields.

Before founding Optra, she was the founder and principal scientist at BioImagene Inc., a Silicon Valley based digital pathology company which was acquired by Roche Diagnostics.Gauri is a biotechnologist with an extensive commercial research and entrepreneurial background. She has extensive experience working in the genetics, cytology, microbiology, molecular biology, medical imaging and bioinformatics fields.

Gauri was selected as a young scientist for various research programs in biotechnology and microbiology internationally. She has 11 U.S. patents published to her credit. She has published many research papers in international journals and has participated as a speaker in many international conferences. She is on the editorial and advisory boards of many prestigious journals and forums, including the Journal of Applied & Translational Genomics and the International Organization for Rare Genetic Disorders. Gauri was also awarded with the prestigious “Woman Entrepreneur Award" by the government of India.

At Optra, Gauri is responsible for enriching the domain knowledge of her companies, as well as involved in the strategic planning and business development activities.

Professor Clive Taylor attended medical school at the University of Cambridge and completed his doctoral studies in Immunology at Oxford prior to accepting an appointment at University of Southern California where he served as Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine for 25 years, and Dean for Educational Affairs for 10 years. Dr. Taylor is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists (U.K), a Diplomat of the American Board of Pathology, a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland), and the Royal Society of Medicine. He was elected President of the U.S. Association of Pathology Chairs from 1996 – 1999, President of the U.S. Biological Stain Commission from 1994-1998 and Chaired an FDA Advisory Panel for Diagnostic Devices and Radiology until 2007.

Professor Taylor’s primary research relates to advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment of cancer, by immunologic and molecular methods, with emphasis upon standardization and quantification. He has published more than 400 papers plus 20 books. Currently he is Editor in Chief of Applied Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Morphology.

She has led initiatives in executing and maintaining NABL accreditation for Histopathology Department. Dr. Joshi has worked on FDA clearance of automated immunohistochemistry image analysis for Breast cancers and Prostate cancer at Ohio State University, Columbus, USA. Previously, she was involved in the development of Digital Pathology Imaging and Telepathology solutions while acting as a consultant with various software and instrumentation companies in India, US, and Europe where she guided the development of AI tool to assist pathologists in grading, scoring, and prognostication of Prostate cancer cases, as well as AI, enabled computational analysis platform for diagnostics and prediction of response to drugs and therapy.

Dr. Joshi is a Life Member Indian Association of Practising Pathologists, Pune (IAPP) - since 1996 (IAPP) – Elected Treasurer 2012 -2018 and Secretary since 2019. She is a Member and Scientist in the Institutional Review Board of LAKSHYA - Society for Public Health, Education and Research conducting Indo-US health research studies in the field of HIV/AIDS in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA.
